DENTON, Texas — The UNT track and field teams will send a smaller group than normal to compete at the UW Invite in Seattle, Wash., Friday and Saturday.
The Mean Green will send 24 athletes, primarily in field events and distance races to compete at the meet, along with relay teams for the 4x400 and DMR for both the men's and women's teams. The UW Invite will host a competitive field of teams, including Washington, Washington State, TCU, UCLA, Oregon State, Utah and others.
QUOTE FROM COACH MARSHALL
"We're going to give many of our sprinters a week off to recover and get ready for the back half of the season. Our expectation every weekend is to go in and win and execute our races. Go in, execute your race, compete at a high level and let the numbers come. I think if we can continue to do that, hopefully we see some more records fall."
LAST TIME OUT
UNT saw two school records fall at the Red Raider Invite on Jan. 24, highlighted by Jaylen Washington's 6.55 in the 60 meters. Washington has the sixth-fastest time in the country and the No. 12 time in the world in 2025. Hendrick Hundl also put his name in the record books with a 7.88 in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles. London Culbreath was the lone individual champion for the Mean Green, winning the women's 3,000 meters.
