Men's Basketball Hosts Prairie View Sunday Afternoon

DENTON — The UNT men's basketball team hosts Prairie View A&M on Sunday at the Super Pit aiming to win its 11th straight home game and third in a row overall.
Sunday's game is scheduled to tipoff at 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN+.
The matchup will be just the second all-time meeting between UNT (5-2) and Prairie View A&M (3-4) and the first since 2014.
A Win Would…
-Improve North Texas' record to 6-2 overall and 5-0 at the Super Pit
-Be UNT's third straight win
-Mark the best eight-game start to a new UNT head coach's tenure since 1975 — 50 years ago — when Bill Blakeley started 7-1 in his first season as the Mean Green's head coach
-Be the fastest UNT head coach Daniyal Robinson, who is in his fourth season as a head coach, has gotten to six wins in a season

Late Comeback
On Tuesday UNT beat Eastern Washington 79-71 (ot) despite trailing by seven points (63-56) with 3:26 remaining in regulation. It was the Mean Green's largest comeback victory after the under-4 media timeout since March 15, 2022, when UNT defeated Texas St., 67-63 (ot), in the first round of the 2022 NIT despite trailing the Bobcats by eight (52-44) with 2:50 remaining in regulation. Against EWU on Tuesday, sophomore Reece Robinson made two free throws to tie the game with 9 seconds remaining to complete the comeback and send it into OT. Similarly, in 2022 then UNT junior Tylor Perry completed the comeback by sending the game into OT by making two free throws with 4 seconds remaining.
11 In Overtime
North Texas guard Je'Shawn Stevenson led the Mean Green to a 79-71 overtime win on Tuesday over Eastern Washington by scoring a career high 26 points, 11 of which came in the five-minute overtime period. Stevenson scored 11 of UNT's 14 overtime points. Stevenson's 11 points in a single overtime period were the most by a UNT player since Nov. 16, 2010 when Josh White also scored 11 points in overtime to lead UNT to a 93-82 (ot) win over Texas Tech at the Super Pit.
Mr. Do It All
Senior Dylan Arnett enters Sunday averaging 8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.5 bpg and 1.1 spg. As of Saturday, he is one of 43 players in the nation with that stat line or better.
100th Career Game
Sunday will be Dylan Arnett's 100th career game played. Arnett is the Mean Green's most experienced player.
Five Straight Games
UNT sophomore guard Je'Shawn Stevenson enters Sunday having scored in double figures in five straight games. It's the first time in his career he's scored in double figures in five straight games. Over the last five games Stevenson is averaging 18.4 points per game. Stevenson has scored in double figures in six of UNT's seven total games this year.

Following Sunday's game, the Mean Green will host Houston Christian at the Super Pit on Tuesday at 7 p.m. After Tuesday's home game, the Mean Green will play three straight games away from the Super Pit.
