Softball Announces 2026 Schedule

DENTON – First-year UNT head softball coach Cody White has announced the Mean Green softball schedule for the upcoming 2026 season.
The 54-game slate features 16 home games at Lovelace Stadium in Denton, 25 road contests and 13 neutral-site games.
UNT opens its schedule on Friday, Feb. 6, against national championship finalists Texas Tech at the Twisted Vines Bayou Bash in Lake Charles, La. Additionally, the Mean Green will square off against ULM and hosts McNeese on Friday and Sunday, respectively, with a visit to Lafayette, La. for a marquee matchup against Louisiana and Jacksonville State on Feb. 7 at the 40th Annual Louisiana Classic.
North Texas will travel to Mississippi State for The Snowman: Alex Wilcox Memorial for the second-consecutive season where it will meet Murray State, Rutgers and the hosting Bulldogs on Feb. 13-15.
The 2025 home opener is set for Feb. 18 versus East Texas A&M at 6 p.m. from Lovelace Stadium before the Mean Green visit Commerce for the Lion Classic Feb. 20-22. The following weekend, Feb. 27-March 1, UNT close its pre-conference tournament schedule at Texas Tech for the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic in Lubbock.
On March 3, the Mean Green will host eight-time national champions Oklahoma at Lovelace Stadium for the eighth time in program history and first since 2022. The Sooners fell to Texas Tech in the 2025 Women's College World Series semifinals after a 52-win season.
American Conference play begins March 6-8 on the road at UAB before UNT welcomes Tulsa on March 13-15 for the first home league series of the season. In addition to the Golden Hurricane, the Mean Green will host Florida Atlantic (April 2-4), East Carolina (April 10-12) and Wichita State (April 24-26) at Lovelace Stadium this season.
The final weekend of the season will feature a trip to defending American Conference champions South Florida on May 1-3 before the American Championship on May 6-9 at the East Carolina University campus in Greenville, N.C.
Fans can purchase single-game tickets for all home games, except for Oklahoma on March 3rd, through the UNT ticket office now.
