Track & Field Meets Stacked Field at 44 Farms Team Invitational

DENTON, Texas — The UNT track and field program will head to College Station for the first time during the outdoor season to take part in the 44 Farms Team Invitational hosted by Texas A&M on April 11-12 at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Although it is the third iteration of the 44 Farms Team Invitational, it will be the Mean Green's first appearance at the meet. They will compete against a stacked field of over 30 teams, with half coming from power four conferences.
While the meet starts with heptathlon events at 11 a.m. on Friday, field events will begin with the men's hammer throw at 2 p.m. The women's 200 meters will be the first contested running event at 6 p.m. CT. Saturday will follow a similar schedule beginning with the decathlon before getting into the remainder of the field and track events and eventually concluding the meet around 9 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relays.
LAST TIME OUT
North Texas crowned six champions at the Bill Schmidt Invite despite adverse weather conditions. Jake Parchman won the men's hammer throw with the second-best throw of his career at 64.44 meters, while Ava Roberts won for the first time in her career in the women's shot put. The Mean Green swept the javelin titles with Vitus Hansgaard and Mackenzie Kuehl taking first place. On the track, Jaylen Washington won the men's 100 meters and Chase Lehr placed first to lead a trio of top-five finishers in the 400 meters.
MEAN GREEN IN THE RANKINGS
- The UNT men's track and field team landed at No. 14 in the NCAA South Central Regional rankings this week.
- Led by C'Nai Childress and Trezeguet Taylor, the women's 100 meters position group was ranked No. 25 in the country by USTFCCCA.
- The Mean Green have a pair of athletes ranked inside the top 40 nationally in their respective events. Parchman is the highest ranked UNT athlete currently, holding the No. 15 mark in the country in the hammer throw. Chase Lehr is ranked No. 40 in the 800 meters after his personal best time of 1:48.80 at the Raleigh Relays.
AAC ACCOLADES
- Jake Parchman was named the AAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week following his individual win in the hammer throw at the Bill Schmidt Invite.
- It is the first career conference weekly honor for Parchman and the second a UNT athlete has received in the 2024-25 year.
