
Tennis Lands Trio of Student-Athletes on CSC Academic All-District Team

Lou Chalard, Carolina Laydner and Lilly Schultz earned the honor.
DENTON — The UNT women's tennis team had three players earn Academic All-District honors as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) as sophomores Lilly Schultz, Lou Chalard and Carolina Laydner all picked up the honor, the organization announced Tuesday.
All three players surpassed 3.50 GPA cumulative grade-point-average criteria while being a starter or important reserve on the team.
Schultz built upon a solid freshman year by going 6-3 in singles play on the season and was tied for the team lead in doubles wins with 11.
Schultz held a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in Business Administration.
Laydner also is coming off a career season in her sophomore campaign, winning 11 matches to losing just three in singles play, which was good for third on the team.
Double majoring in Political Science and Economics, Laydner held a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Chalard put together a stellar season which saw her win 12 singles matches, eight of which were at line four. She additionally was tied for the team lead in doubles with 11 wins.
As a business administration major, Chalard finished with a 3.675 GPA.
The Mean Green finished 12-12 on the season and picked up a win in the UTR Women's NIT Championship.
