Second annual Gala to take place Friday night before Washington State football game
DENTON, Texas – The second annual Green Lights Gala, presented by Dan Smith and Bob Kimmel Families, is slated for Sept. 12 at the Lovelace and McNatt Families Practice Facility from 6-9 p.m.
Â
Mean Green supporters, partners, and fans wishing to register and attend the gala can do so here.
Â
The night before the 2025 Mean Green football contest against Washington State, UNT athletics is hosting a celebration of the North Texas community, spirit and dedication.
Â
The theme for this year's Green Lights Gala is "Honoring the Past, Illuminating the Future".
Â
Proceeds from the evening directly support UNT Athletics' ongoing mission of Building Champions and Preparing Leaders by helping provide scholarships, academic programs and facility improvements. Participation will assist UNT in providing one-of-a-kind opportunities and championship experiences for Mean Green student-athletes.
Â
"We had such an amazing time at last year's first-ever Green Lights Gala, and we're so excited to bring it back for round two," said UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley. "It was awesome to see everyone come together to celebrate our student-athletes and all the great things happening across Mean Green Athletics. We can't wait for another fun night and a chance to keep supporting our programs. Hope to see you there!"
Â
Much like the inaugural event in 2024, the Green Lights Gala is a semi-formal event that will feature silent and live auctions, gourmet dining prepared by local chefs and networking opportunities to connect with alumni, coaches, student-athletes and community leaders.
Â
The silent auction opens online on Monday, Sept. 8.
Â
Tables to the Green Lights Gala will hold eight people. Tickets to the event are $125 per seat and $1,000 dollars per table.
Â
In addition, attendees can also purchase a table with a pair of student-athletes for $1,500. These tables will have 10 attendees with two seats reserved for UNT student-athletes.
In addition to purchasing tables and single tickets to the Green Lights Gala, attendees have other sponsorship opportunities for the event. Eagle sponsorships are $3,500 and Green & White sponsors are $6,000. Â For more information on UNT's inaugural Green Lights Gala contact the Mean Green Athletic Fund at MGAF@unt.edu.
Â
The North Texas football team's home opener versus Lamar is on Aug. 30 at DATCU Stadium before hosting Washington State Sept. 13.
Â
Season tickets for the 2025 season remain on sale. Season ticket holders receive additional benefits including guaranteed seat locations when hosting The American Championship Game along with VIP presale opportunities for away games, bowl games and other events hosted at the stadium.
Patrons are encouraged to visit MeanGreenTickets.com for more information on any of the above options and to purchase tickets.
Fans can also call the UNT Athletics Ticket Office during normal business hours at 940-565-2527 or email ticketoffice@unt.edu.
