Webb played for the Mean Green in 2016, adds six seasons of coaching experience to UNT staff
DENTON – UNT head softball coach Cody White added Mean Green letter winner Casady Webb to his staff Tuesday. Webb will serve as an assistant coach after spending the past four seasons as a head coach.
"We're thrilled to welcome Casady back to the Mean Green family," White said. "Having coached her at Central Oklahoma, I know her work ethic and dedication firsthand. She's a proven leader who can help develop our players, both on and off the field."
In 2016, Webb played her freshman season at UNT under former head coach Tracey Kee and was named to the Dean's List. After her sophomore season at Seminole State College, she transferred to Central Oklahoma and played her final two seasons under White.
"This feels like a full-circle moment for me," Webb said. "Working with Coach White again makes this opportunity really special. I'm excited to be back in Denton and help the next generation of Mean Green softball players."
Over the past three years, Webb served as head coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State where her team collected a total of 47 academic awards and five players earned Great American Conference all-league selections. In 2024, she led the Rangers to its most single season wins (17) since 2017 and second most since the program moved to Division II.
Her first head coaching position was at Seward County Community College in 2022 where Webb led the Saints to the NJCAA Region VI conference tournament finals as the No. 6 seed. Five of her players were named all-conference while 10 earned NJCAA All-Academic honors.
She began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Seminole State College under head coach Amber Flores in 2020. The Trojans recorded a 65-8 record over the two seasons (2020-21) Webb was on staff. In 2020, the team was ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I for four-consecutive weeks before a fifth-place finish at the 2021 NJCAA Tournament.
At Seminole State, Webb coached three All-American selections including 2021 NFCA and NJCAA Player of the Year, Shea Moreno.
Webb played college softball for four seasons prior to her coaching career with stops at North Texas (2016), Seminole State College (2017) and Central Oklahoma (2018-19). She earned NJCAA First Team All-Region honors as a sophomore catcher at Seminole State College before her transfer to Central Oklahoma.
In her senior season at UCO, she collected an honorable mention selection from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association at second base. The Bronchos won the 2019 MIAA regular season and tournament titles before it ended the season as finalists at the NCAA DII Super Regionals.
A native of Davis, Okla., Webb was a three-sport athlete at Davis High School with letters in softball, basketball and track. She graduated with an associate's degree from Seminole State College in 2017, bachelor's degree from Central Oklahoma in 2019 and master's degree from East Central University in 2020.
