DENTON — For the first time since 2004 the UNT men's basketball team will face TCU on the hardwood. The Mean Green and Horned Frogs are set to face on Dec. 7 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth as part of the 2025 USLMB Coast to Coast Challenge Men's Double Header.
All 2025-26 UNT men's basketball season ticket holders automatically receive tickets to the double header as part of their package as an additional perk for being a loyal fan. Mean Green season ticket holders will receive an equal number of tickets to the double header as they have part of their package. Season tickets for the upcoming men's basketball season are available now and can be purchased here or by contacting the Mean Green Ticket Office at 940-565-2527 or at ticketoffice@unt.edu.
The second game of the Dec. 7 double header will feature Texas Tech versus LSU. Fans only need one ticket to attend both games at Dickies Arena.
The Mean Green are under the leadership of new head coach Daniyal Robinson who comes to Denton from Cleveland State where he led the Vikings to three straight 20-win seasons. He is thought of as one of the top young coaches in the nation as he is the second-most winningest active head coach with three years or less of experience.
"We are very excited for this showcase and to compete against a great program in TCU we have a ton of respect for," Robinson said. "Additionally to play in a world-class venue like Dickies Arena puts this game on a national stage for the world to see the Mean Green. This is an amazing opportunity for our 300,000 alums living in the DFW Metroplex to see us compete against a neighboring rival for the first time in over 20 years. We are thrilled and thankful for this opportunity."
While North Texas and TCU haven't faced one another in the last 21 years the Horned Frogs are the Mean Green's most played opponent in UNT's 108-year history. Dec. 7 will be the 75th time the two programs have met. North Texas and TCU have split evenly the last 22 meetings dating back to 1973.
