Swim & Dive Competing in Mardi Gras Invitational

DENTON - The UNT swimming and diving team will compete on Friday and Saturday in the unique round-robin Mardi Gras Invitational in New Orleans, as the Mean Green will take on host Tulane, New Mexico and Little Rock over the two-day meet.
UNT will face Tulane on Friday afternoon, while Little Rock and New Mexico will square off just after. Then, the losers of those two meets and winners of those two meets will face off with each other on Saturday morning. Then, the losers and winners of those two meets will face off with each other on Saturday evening.
"This weekend will be a good opportunity to compete in an unconventional format at the Mardi Gras Invite," head coach Brittany Roth said. "We're back in the swing of things in training, and setting our sights on refining our speed in preparation for the American Championship. Competing with each team in a round-robin format is a fun twist here in January."
The Mean Green are coming off a strong showing at two meets in Florida last week - at FIU and at FAU - and will look to build on that momentum as the American Conference championship is just more than a month away in Greensboro, North Carolina.
