1/17/2026 9:16:00 AM | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS — The UNT men's basketball is back on the road after a week off as they face Tulane Sunday in the Big Easy.
The Mean Green (10-7, 1-3) and Green Wave (12-5, 3-1) are scheduled to tip-off from Devlin Fieldhouse at 4 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN2.
North Texas enters Sunday's game having won four straight games over Tulane and leading the all-time series history 4-2. Sunday will be just the second time the Mean Green have played in the Devlin Fieldhouse. UNT won the only previous meeting in New Orleans, 80-76, in 2024.
Following Sunday's game, North Texas returns home to the Super Pit to host UTSA on Wednesday.
Turning Opponents Over
UNT's defense has forced five of its last six opponents into season high turnovers. In its four league games so far this year UNT has forced its opponents into 68 total turnovers. That's six more than the next most UAB who has played one more league game (5) than UNT up to this point. Against conference opponents UNT's defense is forcing a turnover on 25.3% of all defensive possessions. Furthermore, UNT's defense isn't just stealing the ball to force turnovers. 104 of the 270 turnovers UNT's defense has forced (39%) this year have been via a non-steal turnover (shot clock violation, bad pass out of bounds, travel etc).
Offensive Rebounder
North Texas forward Reece Robinson has grabbed as many or more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds in each of North Texas' last seven games.
89 Straight
Dylan Anrett enters Sunday having made 89 consecutive starts dating back to 2023. Arnett has started every game since the start of his sophomore season.
Block Party
Through 17 games, the Mean Green, who do not have a player on its roster listed taller than 6-foot-9 have already blocked 88 shots on the year. They blocked 91 all of last year. The Mean Green are on pace to end the regular season with 164 blocks. The single season program record is 153 set by the 2013 team.
Back-to-Back Career Highs
Entering Sunday's game at Tulane, North Texas guard David Terrell Jr. has scored a single game career high in each of the Mean Green's last two contests. He scored a career high 17 points on Jan. 7 against USF and then followed that game up with a career high 21 points against Wichita St. on Jan. 11.
