Mean Green Host UTSA Wednesday Night

DENTON – The UNT men's basketball team hosts UTSA Wednesday night at the Super Pit to start a two-game homestand for the Mean Green.
North Texas (11-7, 2-3) and the Roadrunners (4-14, 0-6) are scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN+.
UNT heads into Wednesday's contest coming off a 71-63 road win at Tulane on Sunday. The Mean Green got 34 combined points from their backcourt tandem of David Terrell Jr. and Je'Shawn Stevenson and outrebounded the Green Wave 47-30. It was North Texas' most rebounds in a game since 2022.
Wednesday will be the 38th all-time meeting between North Texas and UTSA. The Mean Green lead the all-time series history 22-15. The two programs have split their last four meetings dating back to 2023. UNT is 11-6 all-time at home against the Roadrunners.
Following Wednesday's game, North Texas remains at home as they will host East Carolina on Saturday.

Over the last three games entering Wednesday, North Texas point guard David Terrell Jr. has been on an overall tear. Over the last three games, Terrell averaged 19 ppg on 51.2% shooting, 5.67 apg with a 3.4 assist/turnover ratio, 4.7 rpg and 2.3 spg. Prior to this recent three-game stretch Terrell had a single game career high of 17 points. He has matched or surpassed his previous single game career high in every game since.
CRASHING THE OFFENSIVE GLASS
UNT has grabbed a season high offensive rebounds in each of its last three games. On Sunday at Tulane, the Mean Green grabbed 17 offensive rebounds. It was North Texas' most single game offensive rebounds since they had 25 versus Rice on Jan. 1, 2022.
WHEN ROBINSON SCORES 10+
When Reece Robinson scores in double figures in his career, Robinson teams are 14-1 all time and 6-0 this season. The sophomore had 13 on Sunday in the win at Tulane.
NEXT GAME WILL BE NO. 100
North Texas senior Demarion Watson enters Wednesday having played in 99 career games. Assuming he plays Wednesday against UTSA he will join Dylan Arnett as active UNT players with 100 career games played. Watson enters Wednesday with a 66-33 all-time career record.
RECORD BREAKING SEMESTER
This past fall the UNT men's basketball team set the program record for highest single team semester GPA in program history with a 3.711 team GPA. Every player on the team had a 3.0+ GPA and five players boasted a 4.0 GPA.
