Mean Green Beat UTSA, 81-62

DENTON – The UNT men's basketball team beat UTSA at home Wednesday night 81-62 behind a career game from sophomore Je'Shawn Stevenson and Cole Franklin.
Stevenson led the Mean Green (12-7, 3-3) to the 19-point win over the Roadrunners (4-15, 0-7) with a career high 27 points and made a career high seven 3-pointers. Franklin grabbed a career high 10 rebounds, seven of which were offensive.
"It was great to be back home, and I really enjoyed our guy's energy especially to start the game," said North Texas head coach Daniyal Robinson. "In the first half I thought we executed at a really high level on both ends. I feel really good about this win but we must quickly pivot to ECU on Friday."
The Mean Green led by 22 at the half, 45-23, their largest halftime lead of the year.
Along with Stevenson's 27 points, David Terrell Jr. added 15 points and Dylan Arnett finished with a season high 13 points.
Wednesday was Terrell's fourth straight game scoring 15 or more points. The junior also added six assists and three steals in the win over UTSA.
In addition to his 13 points, Arnett grabbed 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the year and seventh of his career.
UNT has a quick turnaround as they host East Carolina on Friday at noon CT aiming to win its third straight.
