Track & Field Set For Two Separate Meets This Weekend
1/29/2026 9:38:00 AM | Track & Field/XC
The UNT track and field team is set to compete this weekend at two separate meets - one at New Mexico and one at Washington - and is looking forward to competing again after they had to withdraw from last weekend's Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station due to hazardous road conditions in the winter storm.Â
Competition at both meets, the New Mexico Team Open and the UW Invite (distance runners only), will begin on Friday and run throughout the day on Saturday.
"We're excited to be back in competition this weekend with spit groups heading to New Mexico and Seattle," said head coach Doug Marshall. "Our athletes are anxious to get back on the track this weekend after weather sidelined us last week. We are looking forward to competing against some of the best in the nation."
The last time the team competed, there were several standout performance in the season opener a couple of weeks ago in Arkansas, including a handful of program records that were broken in men's shot put (Oluwatimilehim Williams), women's high jump (Alliyah McNeil), women's 60-meter (Trezeguet Taylor), women's 300-meter (Aariyana Williams) and the women's 4x400 relay (Williams, junior C'Nai Childress, freshman Lailah Hudson and senior Kendahl Tucker).
Live results for New Mexico can be found on here and the event will be broadcast on FloTrack and the live results from Washington can be found here.Â
