Women’s Basketball to Play Duke at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio

DENTON, Texas – The UNT women's basketball team will face Duke this November in The Foundry Classic, a marquee non-conference matchup hosted at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
The game is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, as part of The Foundry, a premium women's college basketball weekend created and produced by BLE Events built around the intersection of competition, leadership, preparation and opportunity. Tipoff is set for 1pm, and the contest will be broadcast on ESPNU.
North Texas has never met Duke in its 50 seasons of competition.
The Mean Green are entering their fourth season under head coach Jason Burton, who has guided the program to its most successful three-year stretch in program history. In that time, UNT leads the American Conference with 67 total wins, reached a pair of national postseason tournaments and captured a share of the 2024 regular season league title.
Most recently, North Texas went 19-14 throughout the 2025-26 campaign and came within a victory of the American Conference Championship finals for the second consecutive year. The Mean Green ranked top three among league competitors in both scoring offense and scoring defense while breaking the program record for 3-pointers in a season with 181.
Duke is coming off a fantastic season in which it went 27-9, swept both the ACC Tournament and regular season titles and reached the Elite 8 before falling to the eventual national champions, UCLA. At season's end, it was ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll and held the eighth spot in the final NET Rankings.
Alongside the game, the signature weekend also includes The Foundry Future Summit and The Foundry Table, which are both scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7. The two events are designed to bring student-athletes, coaches and university leadership together for unique education opportunities on leadership, culture, program building and the preparation behind high-level achievement.
