STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mean Green softball travels to The Snowman: Alex Wilcox Memorial at Nusz Park for a three-day tournament beginning Friday at 10 a.m. against Murray State.
UNT (1-4) will meet Rutgers (3-2) at 5:30 p.m. Friday with hosts No. 19 Mississippi State (5-0) on the schedule at 3 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday, both matchups on SEC Network+. North Texas will also face Murray State (3-2) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Of the three weekend opponents, the Mean Green have only faced the Bulldogs since the modern era of the program began in 2004. UNT lost the lone meeting between the two programs, 14-5, in five innings at last year's Snowman.
Riley McNemar recorded the first multi-hit game of her career against Mississippi State last season as she finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI in the run-rule loss.
The Mean Green meets Rutgers for the first time in program history but have won three of its past five matchups against Big Ten opponents, dating back to the 2022 Stillwater Regional when UNT ended then-No. 25 Nebraska's season in an elimination game.
