Mean Green Travel To UTSA Saturday Afternoon

SAN ANTONIO – The UNT men's basketball team takes on UTSA on the road Saturday at the Roadrunners' Convocation Center.
The Mean Green (12-11, 3-7) and Roadrunners (4-18, 0-10) are scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN+.
North Texas defeated UTSA at home, 81-62, on Jan. 21. The 19-point victory is so far the Mean Green's largest margin of victory in a conference game this season. Sophomore Je'Shawn Stevenson scored a career-high 27 points in the win over the Roadrunners and made a career best seven 3-pointers. UNT leads the all-time series history against UTSA 23-15. They have won three straight over Roadrunners at the Convocation Center dating back to 2022.
Following Saturday's game North Texas will host Memphis at the Super Pit on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT.

UNT averages a league leading 9.7 steals per game, that ranks 9th in the nation. UNT's defense has had at least 10 steals in eight of its last 12 games. UNT's five starters combined average 7.0 steals per game. UNT's starters alone average more steals per game than the entirety of seven teams in the American Conference,
FOUR ASSISTS AWAY FROM 300
UNT point guard David Terrell Jr. is only four assists shy of his 300th career assist. When he gets to 300 assists he will be just the fifth active American Conference player with 300+ career assists.
CAREER NIGHT
UNT junior guard Cole Franklin scored a career high 19 points in Wednesday's double overtime game at Rice. He made a career best eight field goals all of which were 2FGs. Over UNT's last five games entering Saturday, Franklin is averaging 9.4 ppg on 53% shooting, 5.6 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.6 spg.
17 STEALS
North Texas' defense had 17 steals in Wednesday's double overtime game at Rice. It tied UNT's season high in steals. They also had 17 in the season opening win over DII New Mexico Highlands. The 17 steals is tied for the sixth-most single game steals in program history. It's the first time UNT has had 17 against a DI opponent since Feb. 25, 1999 when UNT had 19 steals against Nevada.
