SAN ANTONIO – The UNT men's basketball team beat UTSA on the road Saturday 81-58.
Junior Cole Franklin finished with a career high 21 points. It's the second straight game the DeSoto native has finished with a career high. Franklin was one of four North Texas (13-11, 4-7) players to score in double figures in the win over the Roadrunners (4-19, 0-11).
"Really proud of our guys today," said Mean Green head coach Daniyal Robinson. "They've stuck together and did it today in the right fashion."
Saturday's game opened up for UNT when they went on a season-best 25-0 run over a nearly nine-minute stretch between the end of the first half and early in the second half
Franklin, who had scored a then career high 19 points on Wednesday at Rice, scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half on Saturday. Along with his 21 points, Franklin had seven rebounds — four offensive rebounds — and two steals in the 28 minutes he played.
Dylan Arnett added 14 points and 12 rebounds. It was the senior's second career high 14-point and 12-rebound game. Je'Shawn Stevenson scored 10 points, his 14th straight game in double figures. The sophomore from Chicago had a career high six steals in the win over UTSA and matched his career high with six assists. He also had six rebounds on Saturday, which fell one rebound shy of a career high.
