Softball Finishes Regular Season at USF

The Mean Green seek to secure No. 3 seed, spoil Bulls championship hopes
TAMPA, Fla. – UNT softball closes the regular season with a three-game American Conference series at South Florida beginning Thursday at 5:05 p.m. CT from USF Softball Stadium with streaming coverage on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (27-24, 14-10) enter the weekend in third place in the league while the Bulls (37-15, 18-6) are tied with Wichita State for first place. North Texas can secure the No. 3 seed and automatic advancement into the quarterfinals at the American Conference Championship tournament with two or more wins at South Florida.
UNT dropped the conference championship title game 5-4 to USF on May 10, 2025, after it held a four-run lead through the first three innings and a 4-2 lead entering the bottom of the sixth. The Bulls flipped the title game with three runs in the sixth, an inning which was paused by a 90-minute weather delay.
North Texas dropped two of three games in the season series including a 10-inning offensive marathon where it fell 15-14 after it mounted a 10-run comeback to force extra innings. The Mean Green set single-game program records in hits (19), total bases (38) and at-bats (49) in the loss.
