Soccer Hosting Air Force For First Time

DENTON - The UNT soccer team will meet up with Air Force for the first time in program history, as the Mean Green will host the Fighting Falcons on the back end of a two-match Texas road trip, with kickoff on Sunday night set for 7 p.m.
The Mean Green (2-1-1) are coming off a hard-fought draw on Thursday with previously unbeaten and un-tied Oral Roberts after they had won two straight over ULM and McNeese State. Air Force (3-1-0) is coming off a 2-1 loss at Texas A&M on Thursday night after it had jumped out to a 3-0 start.
In just four matches this season, UNT junior Claire Niedermeier scored five goals, including her 76th-minute equalizer on Thursday against Oral Robert and a hat trick on the road at McNeese State on Sunday in a 4-2 win. Her five goals ties her for sixth nationally in goals scored. The Mean Green have also been getting strong play in goal, as fifth-year keeper Sarah Margaret Seabrook is second in The American in both save percentage (.783%) and saves per game (4.5).
