Kristina Martinez joined North Texas in August of 2023 and currently serves as the assistant director of Sports Nutrition. She works directly with the UNT men's basketball, Swim & Dive, Tennis and Volleyball programs.

Martinez came to Denton from Arkansas where she for two seasons was the Razorbacks sports dietitian for men and women's basketball.

Prior to working at Arkansas, Parrish worked for two years at East Carolina as the Director of Sports Nutrition. She also worked at Rutgers (2019) and Virginia (2018).

Martinez earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, Fitness and Health from Purdue University. She earned her Master's of Science in Nutrition and Wellness from Benedictine University. Since 2020 she has been a certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and she is an active member of the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietetics Association and a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.

Martinez is a native of Michigan City, Indiana. Her husband is UNT men's basketball strength and conditioning coach Jason Martinez. They have a dog named Knicks.
