Mindy Hamilton joined the North Texas athletic department in 2021 as an athletic trainer working directly with the track & field and tennis programs.Â
Prior to joining the Mean Green, Hamilton was part of the UTEP athletic training staff primarily working with the Miner's volleyball team. She was also the supervisor of UTEP's athletic training student apprenticeship program and was responsible for the recruitment, supervision and mentorship of student aides. Hamilton served as both a graduate assistant and an assistant athletic trainer in her four years in El Paso.Â
Prior to her time at UTEP, Hamilton served as an athletic training student worker at the University of Texas where she worked with several Longhorn athletic programs, including volleyball, men's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's basketball, football, track & field and cross country. Hamilton was heavily involved in community sports programs and camps during her time in both El Paso and Austin.
Hamilton earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training with an emphasis in strength and conditioning from the University of Texas in 2017. She also earned her master’s in leadership studies from UTEP in 2019. Hamilton is a nationally certified athletic trainer and a State of Texas licensed athletic trainer. She is also a BOC certified athletic trainer, certified by the American Heart Association and a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the College Athletic Trainers' Association and the South West Athletic Trainers' Association. Â
