Robbie Gordon joined the UNT Football staff in August 2022. He is currently the assistant linebackers coach after starting his career at UNT as as recruiting coordinator.

Gordon, a North Texas Football letterman, returned to Denton following one season at Newman Smith High School in Carrolton in 2021. He served as defensive coordinator and secondary coach.

The Ardmore, Okla. native was also briefly Texas Wesleyan during the spring of 2022.

He spent the 2020 season as a defensive assistant at Prosper Rock Hill after coaching in 2019 at East Central University in Ada, Okla. From 2015-18, Gordon was an assistant coach at Frisco Wakeland after spending 2013-14 at Stafford Middle School in Frisco ISD.

Gordon lettered at UNT as a defensive back from 2007-10 and earned his degree in 2011. He is married to the former Angela Thomas. The couple has two children, Braylon and Ryan.
