North Texas Mean Green Classic Hit With Rain

DENTON - (2/26/05) - Senior Stephanie Cranmer went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in North Texas’ 4-2 loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday morning before the rain began and cancelled the afternoon games.
The Mean Green (3-12) lost to the Islanders (15-1) for the second time this year. Sarah Pauly took the win for TAMCC, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs off four hits. She retired the first nine Mean Green batters and finished the game with 12 strikeouts.
Sophomore Katy Maxey posted NT’s first hit of the game with a bunt single in the bottom of the fourth. Cranmer knocked her in with an RBI double and reached third on an Islanders’ error. Senior Brittiny Chapman followed with an RBI single, scoring Cranmer to bring North Texas within one, 3-2.
TAMUCC tacked on an insurance run in the fifth, while North Texas left two runners stranded in the final two innings.
The North Texas Mean Green Classic will resume play on Sunday, Feb. 27 depending on the weather.
