Cranmer Named SBC Player of the Week

DENTON (2/28/05) - Senior outfielder Stephanie Cranmer was named the Sun Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week after leading North Texas to two victories in the last four games.
Cranmer batted .429 in four games this past week with six hits, six RBI and an .857 slugging percentage. She posted three extra-base hits, including her first home run at North Texas. In the win against Stephen F. Austin, the senior went 3-for-3, including a two-RBI triple that helped give North Texas an early 5-0 lead.
Cranmer was named to the all-tournament team at the North Texas/Mean Green Classic after belting a two-run homer to put North Texas ahead early in the win against New Mexico. She also went 2-for-3 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with an RBI double.
Cranmer leads the Mean Green this season with a .333 batting average and 13 hits. She has posted five extra-base hits and seven RBI in 15 games.
North Texas (3-12) went 1-2 in the abbreviated North Texas Mean Green Classic this weekend. The Mean Green defeated New Mexico, 8-6, and then lost its next two games to Southwest Missouri (1-0) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-2). Rain and poor field conditions suspended play for the rest of the weekend.
