DENTON (2/16/06) - The North Texas athletic teams continue home action on Thursday afternoon with a softball doubleheader and a tennis match. Tennis starts the action at 2 pm, and softball's first pitch is set for 3 pm.
The Mean Green tennis team opens the home portion of its spring schedule with a 2 pm match against Arkansas-Little Rock at the Waranch Tennis Pavilion, the new home for North Texas tennis. NT looks to get back on the winning track after suffering a 6-1 setback to UT-San Antonio last Sunday.
The Waranch Tennis Pavilion is located behind the new athletic center on Bonnie Brae Avenue in Denton. The tennis team has changed its schedule for Saturday when it was to face Sam Houston State at 10 am at home. The Mean Green will now play at 3 pm at Las Colinas Community College.
The softball is in action again after splitting with Texas State on Wednesday afternoon. The Mean Green looks to get the bats swining after posting only four hits in two games yesterday. NT is 0-6 the last two years against Wichita State who arrives in Denton with a 1-3 record.
The softball team is playing at Denia Park, located off Fort Worth Drive, while the Mean Green Softball Complex is being completed.
