Mean Green Softball Hosts South Alabama This Weekend

DENTON (3/15/08) - The North Texas softball team hosts South Alabama this weekend in a three-game conference series at Lovelace Stadium. The Mean Green starts play with a doubleheader beginning at 2 pm on Saturday.
The Mean Green (9-15) looks to rebound from a 5-4 loss on Wednesday to cross-town rival Texas Woman's. NT went 1-2 last year against South Alabama. The Jaguars are 10-11 this season after playing their inaugural season last year.
Mariza Martinez is leading the team offensively with a .354 batting average and 23 hits. Classmate Mallory Cantler leads the team with 24 hits and 12 RBI. Jennifer Smith and Kayla Lawson have each posted four wins in the circle this season.
