UNT Fades On Back Nine At Tavistock

WINDERMERE, Florida – The Mean Green started strong but struggled down the stretch in Round 2 of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational on Monday at Isleworth Golf & Country Club.
Before making the turn on Monday, UNT had already made up three shots and had three golfers start the day under par before things got tougher for them on their back nine, which was the front nine of the course.
"The team got off to a fantastic start today," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "I saw a lot of maturity and good execution. The front nine, which was our back, bit us today. I'm proud of how the guys kept fighting down the stretch. One more round at Isleworth, and the fall season is history."
Heading into the final round of play on Tuesday, the 48th-ranked Mean Green are back in 15th place at 27-over par. Senior Thomas Rosenmueller, who ended Round 1 in a tie for 15th place at 1-under par, struggled on Monday and finished the day at 5-over in a tie for 42nd.
Senior Jordan Sanders and sophomore Viktor Forslund were the Mean Green's best performers on the day, as Sanders was even for the round and Forslund was 1-over par. They are now tied for 49th and 55th, respectively.
The Mean Green will begin Round 3, which will be their final round of the fall season, on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. CT, and will be paired with Augusta and Washington.
