DENTON – North Texas women's basketball opens Conference USA play at Louisiana Tech Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at Southern Miss at 4 p.m.
About the Mean Green (7-5, 0-0 C-USA)
North Texas is on a three-game win streak and has compiled victories in five of their last six games.
Terriell Bradley's scoring average of 19.5 leads the Mean Green and is second within Conference USA. Anisha George contributes 9.8 points per contest along with a team-best 6.9 rebounds to rank ninth in the league. Trena Mims adds eight points and hands out 3.7 assists to sit eighth in C-USA while her assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.3 ranks second.

FRISCO (March 8, 2018) - For the first time in program history, the North Texas women's basketball team advanced past the quarterfinal round of the Conference USA tournament with a 76-69 win over No. 3 seed Louisiana Tech on Thursday afternoon at the Ford Center at the Star. The victory is the Mean Green's first against the Lady Techsters all-time (1-12).
Trena Mims led the team with a career-high 19 points and tied her career-high with six rebounds. Terriell Bradley joined Mims in double-digits with 18 and also had six rebounds. Micayla Buckner recorded a team-high 10 rebounds.
Mean Green vs. Lady Eagles
DENTON (Feb. 15, 2018) - The North Texas women's basketball team was able to hold off a rally late in the second half by the Southern Miss Lady Eagles to win 71-62 at the Super Pit Thursday night.
Terriell Bradley led the way for the Mean Green on offense by extending her streak of scoring in double figures to 12 straight games after her 26-point performance versus Southern Miss. It's her 15th game this season with 20 or more points. Thursday was also the sixth straight game Bradley has been the leading scorer for either team.
Non-con results
Following the 93-52 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State, UNT finished their nonconference schedule two games above .500 at 7-5. Dating to the 2015-16 season, the Mean Green are currently 24-21 in games occurring before the start of C-USA play. The team posted a mark of 9-3 in pre-conference play last season.
Mims taking care of the ball
Trena Mims sits second in C-USA in assist-to-turnover ratio with her 44 helpers and 19 miscues. Eleven of her turnovers have occurred between three contests, while Mims has registered two games with zero mistakes in 26 minutes of play against Utah State Dec. 8 and Oklahoma Panhandle Dec. 29 and also has six games with only a single turnover.
She set a career-high in assists with nine versus Houston Baptist Dec. 5 and has twice dished out six. Her total against HBU is the third-best performance within C-USA this season.
Offense is key
With a record of 7-5 on the season, the Mean Green have been steady defensively. In the UNT victories, the defense is allowing 60.1 points per game, whereas in the losses, the team is giving up 61.4.
Signs point to the importance of the offense in securing wins. The Mean Green are averaging 82.9 points in victories and have posted five contests of at least 82. In the losses, North Texas is mustering 50.4 points.
In addition to the scoring contrast, UNT outrebounds their opponents by 13.3 boards in the wins, while in the losses the advantage is flipped in favor of the other team by nearly 10.
Doubling up
The Mean Green have compiled four double-doubles throughout the 2018-19 season with three coming from junior post Anisha George and the other by redshirt sophomore forward Madison Townley. George's trio of double-doubles ranks third in C-USA.
Throughout the entire 2017-18 season, the team amassed five, one each from current players Terriell Bradley and Micayla Buckner. Two seasons ago, six double-doubles were accomplished with half of them coming from Bradley.

With her breakout career-high 40-point performance against NDSU Nov. 24, Terriell Bradley has continued to show her offensive prowess with 30 points at SMU Nov. 28 and 36 versus Missouri State Dec. 1. She has now elevated from 14thto eighth in the UNT career scoring charts with 1,190 points. Head Coach Jalie Mitchell's (1998-2002) record of sits at 1,764.
If Bradley continues her current 19.5 average throughout the regular season, she would move into third all-time with just over 1,500 points.
Chart-topping Bradley
With 336 free throws made, Bradley sits in fourth place all-time in program history. She needs 29 more to tie Isalene Jones (1980-84) for third. Not out of sight is the No. 1 spot, held by Head Coach Jalie Mitchell who sank 411 throughout her career. Bradley made 164 from the line last season and now needs 75 to dethrone Mitchell, which comes out to be 4.7 makes per game throughout the remainder of the regular season.
Bradley is currently sixth all-time in 3-pointers made with 110. She is two away from the fifth spot, and Ashley Norris (1995-2000) occupies the top spot with 197.
Bring on the OT
The Mean Green have compiled a lowly 12-26 record throughout program history in overtime games, but following the 83-76 win over Missouri State Dec. 1, UNT has now strung together six straight victories involving extra periods. The win over the Bears was just the third time in program history UNT has found success inside The Super Pit in OT, as the team is now at 3-10 at home. Two seasons ago, North Texas pulled out wins in each of their four overtime contests, and went one-for-one in 2017-18.

DENTON – North Texas closed out 2018 along with their nonconference slate in a dominating 93-52 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State and set several season-highs as well as a career scoring performance by Deja Terrell Saturday afternoon inside The Super Pit.
Terrell recorded 16 points and added seven rebounds in 16 minutes of play, while Charlene Shepherd came close to a double-double with 14 points and a career-high nine rebounds. Brittany Smith tallied season-highs of eight assists and seven rebounds, and Madison Townley collected a season-best dozen boards. Anisha George posted 14 points and eight rebounds, and Grace Goodhart registered 10 points.
North Texas (7-5, 0-0 C-USA) collected team season-highs of 83 shots and 32 free throw attempts while forcing a season-best 24 turnovers. UNT ripped down 62 rebounds against the Aggies (7-5, 3-1 SAC) for the fifth highest single-game total in program history, and the plus-32 rebound margin is their best performance in 2018-19. The 62 rebounds rank as the third-highest output in C-USA this season.
