DENTON – North Texas women's basketball returns home to host Old Dominion Thursday at 7 pm.
About the Mean Green (10-9, 3-4 C-USA)
North Texas began the conference season with three wins and is now looking to get back to its winning ways after dropping the past four contests.
Terriell Bradley's scoring average of 17.6 leads the Mean Green and is fourth within Conference USA. Anisha George contributes 10.6 points per contest along with a team-best 7.6 rebounds to rank fifth in the league. Grace Goodhart averages 6.7 points, and Trena Mims and Brittany Smith each hand out 3.2 assists per contest, ninth in C-USA, while the 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio by Mims ranks second, and the 1.6 from Smith sits seventh.
The Mean Green are outscoring their opponents by 5.7 points per contest. UNT has put up a total of 1,175 shots this season as their rivals have fired up 1,021. However, the opponents have totaled 391 attempts from the free throw line compared to 339 from the Mean Green.
About the Monarchs (15-5, 6-2 C-USA)
Old Dominion opened up league play with a pair of losses but have since been winners of six straight, their longest such streak since the 2013-14 season. With the six conference victories, ODU has already equaled last season's C-USA win total.
Victoria Morris averages a team-high 12.8 points, while Ajah Wayne and Taylor Edwards each put up 11.4 per game. Wayne's 8.8 rebounds rank third best in C-USA, as do the 4.7 assists delivered by Edwards.
The Monarchs post an average of 70.8 points per contest while ranking third in field goal percentage defense (36.9). ODU pulls down a league-best 42.2 rebounds but is last in free throw percentage (62.5).
History between the squads
Old Dominion holds a 6-4 advantage over the Mean Green dating to the 2013-14 season. North Texas began the series with a win before the Monarchs tallied five straight victories during 2014-15 and 2015-16. The teams split in 2016-17, and UNT took both meetings last season.

NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 22, 2018) - North Texas spoiled Old Dominion's senior night by erasing an 18-point third quarter deficit to win 55-52 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center Thursday night. With the win, the Mean Green secured the program's first winning season in 12 years.
For the seventh straight game, Terriell Bradley led all scorers as she scored 23 points and led the UNT comeback by scoring 17 points and making eight of nine at the free throw line in the second half.
North Texas (15-10, 6-7 C-USA) trailed by 18 with 6:52 left in the third quarter.
Back at home
The Mean Green return to The Pit after a 19-day absence following a three-game road swing at Rice, UAB, and Middle Tennessee. This season, North Texas has won each home contest after returning from a road trip with victories over Missouri State, CSU Bakersfield, and UTEP.
Home court advantage
It is expected that home teams fare better playing at home, and the Mean Green are no exception. UNT's 2018-19 record in The Pit stands at 6-3, while they have amassed a 4-6 mark in other gyms. North Texas averages 72 points in Denton and are outscoring opponents by nearly 14. On the road, that average drops to 56.5 points as the Mean Green are being outscored by three. As the home team, UNT grabs six more rebounds per contest and boasts a 4.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Backcourt taking care of the ball
Trena Mims sits second in C-USA in assist-to-turnover ratio with her 60 helpers and 31 miscues, and teammate Brittany Smith ranks seventh with 60 as well along with 37 turnovers. Mims has registered three games with zero mistakes and also has eight games with only a single turnover.
She set a career-high in assists with nine versus Houston Baptist Dec. 5 and has twice dished out six. Her total against HBU is the third-best performance within C-USA this season.
Smith totaled a season-high eight helpers versus Oklahoma Panhandle State Dec. 29 and has tallied three games with six.
Mitchell notches 50 career wins
With the 70-51 win over UTEP Jan. 10, head coach Jalie Mitchell placed herself alongside former UNT coaches Judy Nelson and Tina Slinker in the 50-win club. Mitchell also became the fastest to achieve the honor in program history.
Doubling up
The Mean Green have compiled five double-doubles in the 2018-19 season, with four from junior post Anisha George and the other by redshirt sophomore forward Madi Townley. George's four double-doubles ranks fourth in C-USA, and she has been shy one or two rebounds on three occasions for her fourth.
Throughout the 2017-18 season, the team amassed five, one each from current players Terriell Bradley and Micayla Buckner. Two seasons ago, six double-doubles were accomplished, half of them coming from Bradley.
Bradley enters top 10 in scoring
With her career-high 40-point performance against NDSU Nov. 24, Terriell Bradley has continued to show her offensive prowess with 30 points at SMU Nov. 28 and 36 versus Missouri State Dec. 1. She has elevated from 14thto seventh in the UNT career-scoring charts with 1,257 points. Head coach Jalie Mitchell's (1998-2002) record of sits at 1,764.
If Bradley continues her current 17.6 average throughout the regular season, she would move into fifth all-time with over 1,400 points.
Chart-topping Bradley
With 362 free throws made, Bradley sits in fourth place all-time in program history. She needs three more to tie Isalene Jones (1980-84) for third. Not out of sight is the No. 1 spot, held by head coach Jalie Mitchell, who sank 411 throughout her career. Bradley made 164 from the line last season and needs 49 to dethrone Mitchell, which comes out to 5.4 makes per game through the remainder of the regular season.
Bradley is sixth all-time in 3-pointers made with 117. Ashley Norris (1995-2000) occupies the top spot with 197.
Bring on the OT
The Mean Green have compiled a lowly 12-26 record throughout program history in overtime games, but following the 83-76 win over Missouri State Dec. 1, UNT has strung together six straight victories involving extra periods. The win over the Bears was just the third in program history UNT has found success inside The Super Pit in OT, as the team is now at 3-10 at home. Two seasons ago, North Texas pulled out wins in each of their four overtime contests, and went one-for-one in 2017-18.
Non-con results
Following the 93-52 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State Dec. 29, UNT finished their nonconference schedule two games above .500 at 7-5. Dating to the 2015-16 season, the Mean Green are 24-21 in games occurring before the start of C-USA play. The team posted a mark of 9-3 in pre-conference play last season.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2018) – North Texas women's basketball trailed Middle Tennessee by four points entering the fourth quarter, but a 14-1 Lady Raider run to open the final period was too much to overcome for the Mean Green in a 61-46 loss Saturday inside the Murphy Center.
Anisha George posted her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Terriell Bradley scored a team-best 13 points. The Mean Green (10-9, 3-4 C-USA) made a season-low 14 field goals on 49 tries, but performed well at the free throw line by sinking 15-of-18. After committing 12 turnovers in the first half, UNT took better care of the ball after halftime and gave up only three.
