DENTON – North Texas women's basketball returns home to host Florida Atlantic Thursday at 7 p.m. inside The Super Pit.
About the Mean Green (12-11, 5-6 C-USA)
North Texas secured a 76-67 win at WKU Feb. 9 for the first victory in Bowling Green in program history. The Mean Green have accomplished such a feat on three occasions this season by doing so at La Tech Jan. 3 and Southern Miss Jan. 5 as well.
Terriell Bradley's scoring average of 16.8 leads the Mean Green and is fourth within Conference USA. Anisha George contributes 11.3 points per contest along with a team-best 8.0 rebounds to rank fourth in the league. Grace Goodhart averages 6.7 points, and Trena Mims put up 6.3. Mims and Brittany Smith each hand out 3.0 assists per contest, while the 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio by Mims ranks fifth in the league.
About the Owls (5-19, 2-9 C-USA)
Florida Atlantic is coming off of its second conference win, an 86-70 victory over UTSA Feb. 9, while FAU's second league victory came against in-state foe FIU Jan. 26.
Juliette Gauthier averages a team-high 10.9 points, and Myka Matthews registers 9.7. Abby Voss grabs six rebounds per contest, and Glenisha Harkless distributes 2.3 assists. Gauthier and Voss have each notched a double-double this season.
The Owls rank last in the league in scoring defense (73.2), scoring margin (-14.0), field goal percentage (36.9), and rebounding margin (-5.5).
History between the squads
FAU holds a 9-6 advantage over the Mean Green in a series that began during the 2006-07 season. UNT took the first pair of meetings before the Owls rattled off eight straight victories from 2008-2014. Since then, North Texas has won four of the past five.

BOCA RATON, Fl. (Feb. 10, 2018) - The North Texas women's basketball team trailed by 14 points late in the first quarter but rallied all the way back to win by 14 Saturday night at Florida Atlantic, 65-51.
Led by freshmen Lauren Holmes and Deja Terrell, the Mean Green began the second-half on a 14-0 run and held the Owls scoreless for the first five minutes.
Holmes and Terrell both came off the bench Saturday and combined for 29 points and 18 rebounds. Both were a rebound shy of a double-double. As a whole, North Texas' bench outscored the Owls' 37-4. Holmes' 18 points and nine rebounds are highs for her in conference play.
Conference highs
The win at WKU Feb. 9 saw the Mean Green produce several team season-highs in conference play this season. The squad compiled bests in points scored (76), field goal percentage (36.9), 3-point percentage (35.7), rebounding margin (+13), and tied for blocks (4).
Sharing the scoring wealth
Nearly every Mean Green player who has seen the court this season has led or co-led the team in scoring at least once this season, proving that UNT has several potent offensive options. C-USA Preseason selection Terriell Bradley has posted the high score on a dozen occasions, with Anisha George coming in next with six. Grace Goodhart has tallied a team-high twice, while Velma Mitchell, Charlene Shepherd, Madison Townley, Callie Owens, and Deja Terrell have each garnered the distinction once.

Won at La Tech, Southern Miss, or WKU until the 2018-19 season. The Mean Green have achieved three huge milestones with victories in Ruston, La., Hattiesburg, Miss., and Bowling Green, Ky. Before picking up the wins this year, North Texas had gone 0-5 at La Tech, 0-3 at Southern Miss, and 0-9 at WKU.
Doubling up
The Mean Green have compiled seven double-doubles in the 2018-19 season, with six from junior post Anisha George and the other by redshirt sophomore forward Madison Townley. George's six double-doubles ranks third in C-USA, and she has been shy one or two rebounds on three occasions.
Throughout the 2017-18 season, the team amassed five, one each from current players Terriell Bradley and Micayla Buckner. Two seasons ago, six double-doubles were accomplished, half of them coming from Bradley.
Back at home
The Mean Green have compiled a 3-1 record when returning to The Super Pit following a road tilt this season. Before the loss against Old Dominion Jan. 31 following a 19-day absence from Denton, North Texas had won each home contest after returning from a trip with victories over Missouri State, CSU Bakersfield, and UTEP.
Home court advantage
UNT's 2018-19 record in The Pit stands at 7-4, while they have amassed a 5-7 mark in other gyms. North Texas averages 71.6 points in Denton and are outscoring opponents by 11.4. On the road, that average drops to 57.9 points as the Mean Green are being outscored by 2.8. As the home team, UNT grabs 6.4 more rebounds per contest and boasts a 3.6 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Backcourt taking care of the ball
Trena Mims sits fifth in C-USA in assist-to-turnover ratio with her 70 helpers and 39 miscues, and teammate Brittany Smith ranks 11thwith 70 as well along with 49 turnovers. Mims has registered three games with zero mistakes and also has nine games with only a single turnover.
She set a career-high in assists with nine versus Houston Baptist Dec. 5 and has twice dished out six. Her total against HBU is the third-best performance within C-USA this season.
Smith totaled a season-high eight helpers versus Oklahoma Panhandle State Dec. 29 and has tallied three games with six.
Mitchell notches 50 career wins
With the 70-51 win over UTEP Jan. 10, head coach Jalie Mitchell placed herself alongside former UNT coaches Judy Nelson and Tina Slinker in the 50-win club. Mitchell also became the fastest to achieve the honor in program history.
Bradley enters top 10 in scoring
With her career-high 40-point performance against NDSU Nov. 24, Terriell Bradley has continued to show her offensive prowess with 30 points at SMU Nov. 28 and 36 versus Missouri State Dec. 1. She has elevated from 14thto seventh in the UNT career-scoring charts with 1,312 points. Head coach Jalie Mitchell's (1998-2002) record of sits at 1,764.
If Bradley continues her current 16.8 average throughout the regular season, she would move into fifth all-time with over 1,400 points.
Chart-topping Bradley
With 378 free throws made, Bradley is tied for second all-time in program history. Not out of sight is the No. 1 spot, held by head coach Jalie Mitchell, who sank 411 throughout her career. Bradley made 164 from the line last season and needs 34 to dethrone Mitchell.
Bradley is fifth all-time in 3-pointers made with 120. Ashley Norris (1995-2000) occupies the top spot with 197.

The Mean Green have compiled a lowly 12-26 record throughout program history in overtime games, but following the 83-76 win over Missouri State Dec. 1, UNT has strung together six straight victories involving extra periods. The win over the Bears was just the third in program history UNT has found success inside The Super Pit in OT, as the team is now at 3-10 at home. Two seasons ago, North Texas pulled out wins in each of their four overtime contests, and went one-for-one in 2017-18.

Anisha George scored a game-high 16 points, while Callie Owens tied her career-high of 13, eight of which came in the fourth quarter. Terriell Bradley registered 12, and Grace Goodhart added 11, also scoring eight in the final period. The 76 points scored was the highest total by UNT (12-11, 5-6 C-USA) in league play this season, as was the 49 percent shooting from the field. The Mean Green pulled down 37 rebounds compared to 24 by WKU (14-11, 8-3 C-USA) for their highest positive margin in a C-USA contest this season.
