Freshman Leads Way To Open Trinity Forest

DALLAS – Freshman Zak Karkaletsos shot a 1-over 72 in his first collegiate round and is tied for 25th at the Trinity Forest Invitational – North Texas' season-opening tournament.
Karkaletsos was 2-under on the front nine before bogeying his final three holes of the day to come in over par.
"Zak played solid golf today," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said. "He started 4-under through seven holes, which is really exciting being his first college tournament."
The Mean Green are 19-over par as a team after the first day and will continue play on Monday before concluding the three-round event on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
"We have a great opportunity to pass a lot of teams tomorrow," Stracke said. "We will adjust and come out firing tomorrow."
