After a seven-game road trip, the North Texas softball team returns home to host UT Arlington for the lone game inside Lovelace Stadium during the month of March this season. The Mean Green return home after going 4-3 on their recent time away from home that concluded with a two-game sweep of the Shocker Softball Tournament in Wichita, Kan. last weekend.
Lovelace Stadium will only be open to individuals on the team pass list, a small number of current UNT students and Mean Green Scholarship Fund Members. The matchup with UT Arlington will be the sixth of just 17 home games for North Texas this season, the Mean Green are 5-0 at home on the year and have a 27-2 mark at Lovelace Stadium dating back to 2019 and is currently on an 11-game home win streak.
North Texas vs. UT Arlington
• The Mean Green and Mavericks are meeting for the 17th all-time matchup and second this season, North Texas holds a 9-7 advantage in the series.
• UTA won the previous matchup in Arlington earlier this month, knocking off the Mean Green 2-0 during the Boerner Invitational.
• North Texas won the previous matchup between the teams in Lovelace Stadium, run-ruling the Mavericks 10-1 during the 2020 season. The Mean Green are 5-2 all-time against UTA at home.
• The Mavericks come to Denton on a four-game skid including a midweek loss to #1 Oklahoma on March 10 (14-0) and being swept by Troy in their opening Sun Belt Conference series last weekend (5-0, 4-1 and 10-2).
• UTA is led offensively by senior KJ Murphy who is hitting .326 with a .565 slugging percentage, 15 hits, five doubles, a pair or home runs and six RBI. In the circle UTA is led by junior Laura Henriksen who holds a 2.45 ERA with an 0-1 record in three starts on the season.
