DENTON - The North Texas softball team returns home to welcome the UAB Blazers to Denton as they host their first Conference USA series since the 2019 season. North Texas (14-7) enters the four-game set after an 11-2 midweek victory over Abilene Christian on Tuesday night while UAB (13-13) comes to Denton on a three-game skid after forecasted weather postponed their scheduled midweek game on Wednesday.
The 2021 season brings out a new format for Conference USA series as teams will play four-game sets rather than the traditional three-game series of past seasons. This decision was made in light of limiting travel due to COVID-19 that causes the Conference to go to division-only play, North Texas will also face UTEP, Southern Miss, UTSA and Louisiana Tech during the regular season. Due to Easter, the teams will play a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday and have Sunday off.
Tickets inside Lovelace Stadium will not be on sale to the public per University guidelines with COVID-19. All four games will be streamed on CUSA.tv (subscription required) with Jackson Dunavant and Amanda Bachelder on the call from Denton. Live stats will be available at MeanGreenStats.com and fans are always encouraged to follow along on social media on Twitter @MeanGreenSB.
