DENTON - North Texas is set for their only non-conference series of the 2021 season as they travel to Pine Bluff, Arkansas to take on the Golden Lions of Arkansas - Pine Bluff. This trip marks the first of 10 road games over 10 days starting on Saturday. The Mean Green (16-9, 2-2 C-USA) are meeting with UAPB (1-16, 1-6 SWAC) for the third, fourth and fifth times in program history and the first ever games played in Pine Bluff. This series marks the first time the teams have squared off multiple times in the same season, North Texas holds a 2-0 series advantage in the previous matchups.Â
Arkansas - Pine Bluff does not have a ticket policy thus making their stadium open seating for fans, no ticket or pass list required. The stadium is currently undergoing construction and has no bleachers, so fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating. Fans are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while inside the complex.Â

North Texas vs. Arkansas - Pine Bluff
• The Mean Green and Golden Lions are meeting for just the third, fourth and fifth matchups all-time. North Texas has won both of the previous two matchups over the last two seasons.
• North Texas beat Arkansas - Pine Bluff in Lafayette, Louisiana at the beginning of 2020 by a score of 15-4, their highest run output in a single game since Mar. 6, 2016.
• This weekend will mark the first matchups in Pine Bluff after playing the first game in Denton in 2019 and at a neutral site in 2020.
• North Texas is playing their first game in the state of Arkansas since the 2007 season.
• The Golden Lions enter the contest on a five-game losing skid and have lost 18 of their last 20 matchups dating back to 2020.
• Pine Bluff is led offensively by junior Felicia Drake who is hitting at a .275 average with a .310 OBP, .400 slugging percentage and a team-high seven runs score, the pitching staff is led by sophomore Sydney Green who has a team high 46.0 IP with a 5.63 ERA and a .309 opponent average.
• The Golden Lions are led by third-year head coach Michael Bumpers.
