UNT Men Wrap Up Play At Maridoe Event

CARROLLTON, Texas - The UNT men's golf team finished up play at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational on Wednesday, as part of a loaded field filled with highly ranked teams from last year's end-of-season rankings and several of the top collegiate players in the country.
The Mean Green finished at 51 over par over the course of the three-day event in 13th place and were led by senior Lenny Bergsson, who had a strong final round of 1-over 73 to match his opening round score and finished T29th individually.
"I was proud of how Lenny hung in there this week and had a good tournament," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said.Â
North Texas will have a quick turnaround to its next tournament, as the Mean Green will travel to Albuquerque to play in The Tucker next week on Sept. 24-25.
"We have a lot of golf in front of us and will improve with every tournament," Stracke said. "I look forward to playing in The Tucker next week."
