Scott Named C-USA FOTW For Third Time

DENTON — For a third time in the last four weeks, North Texas men's basketball freshman forward Aaron Scott has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Scott, who grabbed 13 rebounds in the Mean Green's 65-51 win over Charlotte on Thursday, is just the second UNT men's basketball student-athlete to earn the league's freshman of the week honor three times in a single year. His 13 rebounds against the 49ers is a C-USA single-game freshman high for this season. Scott also chipped in seven points and two blocks on Thursday.
On Saturday, Scott added six points in just 14 minutes off the bench in his team's 69-56 win over Old Dominion.
Scott is averaging 4.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. Among the league's freshmen he leads the league in rebounds, offensive rebounds and is top six in points, points per game and blocks.
UNT (13-4, 6-1 C-USA) is on the road this week. They travel to Southern Miss on Thursday and Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
