Volleyball Continue C-USA Play at LA Tech

RUSTON, La. – UNT volleyball is set for a road meeting at LA Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m. on CUSA.tv.
Taking a week off after its five-set road win at UTSA, North Texas (10-12, 4-3) is rested and ready for the trip. Aryn Johnson set a new career-high mark with 25 kills in the 3-2 victory over the Roadrunners, adding eight digs, two blocks and an ace. She also registered a season-best .465 hitting percentage on 43 attacks.
Johnson and Treyaunna Rush are one of two pairs of teammates to appear on the C-USA kills per set leaderboard for conference play. Rush has totaled 99 kills and Johnson has 96 over 28 sets for averages of 3.54 and 3.43, respectively. Sh'Diamond Holly sits atop the conference with a season-long average of 1.26 blocks per set, accumulating 103 total stops in 82 sets.
LA Tech (9-14, 2-6) suffered its fourth-consecutive loss in a 3-0 sweep to Florida Atlantic on Friday. The Lady Techsters are led by Andrea Spasojevic with 71 kills and 11 aces with 69 digs in conference play. Rockwall-native McKenzie Johnson has a team-high 96 digs with 24 assists and 10 aces in 26 sets.
The Mean Green hold a 22-12 edge over LA Tech with an 18-0 record since joining C-USA in 2013. UNT is undefeated in Ruston since 2003.
