DENTON, Texas – North Texas women's basketball is set to travel to UTSA on Saturday. The game is slated for 2 p.m. (CT) inside the Convocation Center and will air on CUSA.TV. Zac Babb will also have the call on KNTU 88.1 FM.
The Mean Green will look to bounce back following its loss to UTEP, 75-62 on Thursday night. Jazion Jackson led the team scoring with 19 points, falling just one point shy of tying her career high. Madison Townley garnered a team-best eight rebounds. Quincy Noble notched double figures for the 15th time this season. A tough start and UTEP runs doomed the Mean Green.
UTSA was scheduled to play Rice on Thursday, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Central Texas. The Roadrunners come into this game second to last in the West Division of Conference USA, with a 5-15 overall record. They most recently snapped a C-USA six-game losing streak at FAU.
North Texas (8-10, C-USA 2-6) will make its final stop on the road trip at UAB (Feb. 7) with tip-off set for 2 p.m. (CT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
QUOTING HEAD COACH JALIE MITCHELL
"I think this next game is important for us to find more consistency and production across the board. It's something as a team I know that we are fully capable of, we just need to do it for forty minutes. Last night, we got off to a bad start and didn't really recover from it. We did fight back the entire time and I think there is something to be said about that. On Saturday, we have to make sure we get off to a good start and I think that will fuel us for a forty-minute game.
