DENTONÂ -Â UNT softball will host No. 10 Oklahoma State on Tuesday at Lovelace Stadium for its second sold-out home game of the season. The Mean Green are coming off a trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi where they swept Southern Miss 3-0. It was their first conference series of the season.
HISTORY AGAINST OPPONENT

UNT has a 7-17 record against Oklahoma State all-time. The Mean Green's last victory was in 2015 when North Texas swept the Cowgirls in a doubleheader in Conroe, Texas.

North Texas opened with a 5-3 victory and finished the day with a 4-0 win. After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning of game one, the Mean Green never trailed again either contest.

Senior Madison Thompson threw 3.2 scoreless innings as she picked up the second win for UNT in as many games.

Senior outfielder Taylor Schoblocher led the Mean Green on offense that day finishing the doubleheader 6-for-8 at the plate with two doubles, two RBI and two runs.
The last meeting between the two programs was a 5-0 victory by the Cowgirls in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on March 24, 2022.

Sophomore outfielder Lexi Cobb has batted .586 (17-for-29) since being moved to the leadoff position in the batting order in the last nine games. Cobb has added 10 runs, nine RBI, two home runs, three doubles and 26 total bases in that span. Her hits, runs, RBI, batting average and total bases total lead the team through those nine games.
Sophomore outfielder Kalei Christensen leads the team in runs (15) and RBI (20) on the season. Christensen finished last weekend against Southern Miss 4-for-12 at the plate and knocked in two crucial RBI including the game-winning run to finish the series sweep on Sunday.
Junior LHP Ashley Peters capped the weekend against the Golden Eagles with a 2-0 record and pitched a complete game Saturday. Peters posted a new career-high with eight strikeouts and recorded a 1.27 ERA for the weekend. She finished with 13 strikeouts in 11.0 innings in two games at Southern Miss.

North Texas will host Florida Atlantic this weekend at Lovelace Stadium in its first conference series at home. First pitch is scheduled for 6 pm on Friday, March 18. All three games are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+.
