Marzilio, Allen Lead UNT On First Day at UNM

ALBUQUERQUE - The North Texas men's golf team began play on Friday at The Tucker at the University of New Mexico's Championship Course, and the Mean Green were led by juniors Vicente Marzilio and Tucker Allen.

The Mean Green ended Friday's 36 holes in 16th place at 20-over par heading into Saturday's final round, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start.

Marzilio shot a 72-73 and is 1-over for the tournament in a tie for 28th, while Allen followed up a first-round 77 with a second-round 69 to put him at 2-over in a tie for 33rd heading into Saturday's final round.

UNT will be paired for Saturday's final round with Utah Tech, and fans can follow the action live on Golfstat and follow the program on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram throughout the season.
