1/12/2023 10:52:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BOCA RATON, Florida — Conference USA's top two teams meet Saturday at The Burrow for an early season conference rematch.
The North Texas men's basketball team and Florida Atlantic are scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m. CT from the Abessinio Court at FAU Arena. The game, which is a rematch from their Dec. 29th battle in Denton, will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on The Varsity Network app.
UNT (14-3, 5-1) enters Saturday's contest in second place of the conference standings, on a four-game winning streak and winners of nine of its last 10. The one loss over the last 10 games was to the Owls, 50-46, in the Super Pit. FAU (15-1, 5-0) sits atop the league standings and currently holds the nation's second-longest active win streak at 14 in a row.
In addition to its 5-0 league record, Florida Atlantic sits at No. 15 in the NCAA NET ranking. A win for the Mean Green on Saturday would not just be a quad 1 victory and put UNT atop the league standings, it would also be their highest ranked NET opponent victory in program history.
Following Saturday's game at FAU, North Texas will remain in South Florida and travel to FIU in Miami for a Monday night game against the Panthers.
