Men's Basketball Hosts MVSU Saturday

 DENTON - The UNT men's basketball team is back in action on Saturday from the Super Pit with a home contest versus Mississippi Valley State
Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield.
North Texas (4-2) is coming off its largest victory of the year when they defeated Angelo State, 79-50 on Sunday at home. The Mean Green welcome the winless Delta Devils (0-7) hungry for the road upset. UNT enters Saturday riding an 11-game home winning streak.Â
Saturday will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools. They last met on Nov. 26, 2020 to open the 2020-21 season. UNT beat MVSU 116-62. The 64-point win over the Delta Devils is the Mean Green's largest margin of victory in program history.Â
Now senior Rubin Jones made his collegiate debut in the 2020 victory. Jones scored 10 points in the season opener.Â
UNT Athletics is encouraging fans attending Saturday's game to please bring a new or gently used teddy bear for donation. At halftime of Saturday's game, there will be a teddy bear toss where those who brought a stuffed bear can throw it onto the court. All bears collected will be donated to children in the community for this holiday season.
If fans prefer, there will also be a stuff-a-bear ticket package for Saturday's game. Fans can purchase a $15 ticket to the game, stuff two plush animals at a pregame station. They then can keep one of the stuffed animals and toss the other at halftime for donation.Â
The Mean Green hit the road after Saturday as they play their first true road game on Tuesday at Boise State. The game is scheduled to tipoff at 8 p.m. CT from Boise, Idaho.Â
