BROOKLYN, New York — The UNT men's basketball team fell at the buzzer to Fordham Sunday afternoon, 60-59, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
As the game clock hit zero and the buzzer rang, the Rams' Abdou Tsimbila dunked the game-winner after collecting a loose ball in the paint to give Fordham the victory.
"(Today) was tale of two halves," said head coach Ross Hodge. "But I have to give Fordham and coach Urgo credit. He's done an amazing job there and they have a really good team.
"We're still learning, and we'll regroup and get better," Hodge added.
On Sunday the Mean Green tied the program record for single-game blocks with 11. Junior Aaron Scott had a career-high six blocks. It's the most blocks a UNT player has had in a single game since Tony Mitchell in 2012.
In addition to his six blocks, Scott recorded his first double-double of the year with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Jason Edwards led all scorers on Sunday as he finished with 19 points.
Next up for UNT is a trip to Tupelo, Mississippi, where they'll face Mississippi State on Dec. 17.
