Men's Golf Opens Play At The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. - The UNT men's golf team opened up play on Monday at The Prestige, featuring a loaded field of 24 teams, including 11 teams ranked in the top 50 nationally, at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West.
The Mean Green ended the first day of competition in a tie for 18th place with No. 28 LSU at 13-over par, led by juniors Diego Prone and Vicente Marzilio, who shot 1-over 72 and 2-over 73, respectively. They are one shot back of No. 47 Kansas and No. 33 Liberty. UNT will be paired with No. 44 Louisville and Loyola Marymount for Round 2 on Tuesday and will tee off in 11-minute intervals beginning at 9:40 a.m.
In The Prestige Individual Invitational at The Golf Club at Terra Lago in Indio, California, Philippe Thorin opened with a 4-over 76 and is tied for 33rd after the opening round.
