
Softball Travels to UT Arlington on Wednesday

DENTON – UNT softball hits the road for a midweek meeting against UT Arlington on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Allan Saxe Field.
The Mean Green (19-13) look to snap a four-game skid after suffering a 9-2 loss on Sunday at WKU. The Mavericks (11-17) enter on a five-game losing streak after being swept at California Baptist last weekend.
Kailey Gamble enters Wednesday tied for fifth in the nation with 12 home runs and leads Conference USA. She also paces the league with 76 total bases and an .844 slugging percentage.
Over her past nine games, Gamble is 10-for-24 with 10 RBI, six runs scored, six walks, two home runs, two doubles and a stolen base. In this period, she has a team best nine-game reached base streak along with Molly Rainey. On Tuesday, Gamble was named the No. 4 player at first base in the nation by D1Softball.
Lexi Cobb tied the program record with three stolen bases in a single game on Saturday against the Hilltoppers. She is 8-for-10 in stolen bases over the past nine games and has 15 for the season.
North Texas holds a 20-10 record against UTA with wins in four of the past five meetings including a five-inning, 8-0 shutout on Feb. 17 at the Tracy Beard College Classic in Celina, Texas. McKenzie Wagoner spun her first UNT complete-game shutout with 5.0 innings, six strikeouts and allowed only two hits and two walks.
