COLUMBIA, Mo. – UNT softball fell 5-0 to Missouri on Sunday at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
"This weekend was a tough series against a good SEC program," head coach Rodney DeLong said. "I thought our pitchers threw really well and gave us a chance in every game. This series was scheduled to make us better, win or lose. We're looking forward to a big series next weekend at FAU."
North Texas (26-19) was held scoreless despite runners reaching base in five of seven innings. The Mean Green suffered its second shutout to the Tigers (28-20) and fifth of the season.
Starting pitcher Skylar Savage (L, 6-4) allowed three earned runs on two hits and three walks over two innings pitched.
Mackenzie Childers threw the final four innings and recorded six strikeouts. She allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks on 79 pitches, the second-most of her career.
Tatum Sparks finished 1-for-2 along with her fourth stolen base of the season. She has at least one hit in nine of her past 12 games.
