Men's Golf Opens Play at Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

HENDERSON, Nev. - The UNT men's golf team opened play at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Monday and shot a 2-under 286 to end the opening round in a tie for seventh place - one shot back of two teams tied for fifth.
The Mean Green were led by seniors Tucker Allen and Diego Prone, who are tied for 18th at 2-under par. Allen carded four birdies en route to his 70, and Prone had three birdies and an eagle on the par-5, 561-yard ninth hole on his way to an opening-round 70.
UNT will resume play on Tuesday with the second round before the final round on Wednesday, and fans can follow the event live on Golfstat. The Mean Green will be paired with Long Beach State, Middle Tennessee and VCU and will tee off beginning at 10:50 a.m.
