Men's Basketball To Face LSU In NIT First Round

DENTON — The reigning National Invitation Tournament champion UNT men's basketball team is back in the 32-team tournament to defend its 2023 title.
The Mean Green (18-14) will travel to the tournament's fourth-seeded LSU Tigers (17-15) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield.
Tuesday's first round game between North Texas and LSU will be the second time the two teams have faced this season. The two met on Nov. 17 in the Shriners Children's Hospital Charleston Classic. The Mean Green led with four minutes to go but the Tigers went on a late run to win 66-62.
This is UNT's third trip to the NIT. They are 6-1 all-time in the tournament.
