MORAGA, California — The UNT men's basketball team is traveling to the Bay Area to face Saint Mary's on Friday at the University Credit Union Pavilion.
The Mean Green (3-1) and Gaels (3-0) are scheduled to tip off at 9 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield, on KHYI 95.3 FM and ESPN+.
Following Friday's game, North Texas will have nearly a week off before hosting Central Arkansas on Thursday.
Recapping Wednesday
UNT dropped its first game of the year on Wednesday with a 66-64 defeat at Oregon State.
The Matchup
North Texas will aim to bounce back on Friday and pick up its first ever win over the Saint Mary's program that has made four straight NCAA Tournaments and is led by 25-year veteran head coach Randy Bennett.
58 Points Through Four Games
North Texas sophomore guard Je'Shawn Stevenson has scored 58 total points through his first four games with the Mean Green. The only UNT player in the last 10 years to score more points through their first four games at UNT was Tylor Perry who in 2021 scored 75 points (18.8 ppg) in his first four games as a Mean Green player. Perry was a 2-time all-conference guard and the following season was named the Conference USA Player of the Year.
Seven Assists and Three Steals
North Texas guard David Terrell Jr. recorded seven assists and had three steals in the Mean Green's two-point loss at Oregon State on Wednesday. It was only the second time in the last seven seasons a UNT player has had 7+ assists and 3+ steals in a game. The only other player in the last seven seasons was Tylor Perry in 2022. Terrell Jr. is only the fifth UNT player since 2005 to have 7+ assists and 3+ steals in a single game: Isaac Hines (1x), Chris Jones (6x), Ryan Woolrdige (7x), Tylor Perry (1x), David Terrell Jr. (1x).
When David Terrell Jr. Is In He'll Find You
