Men's Basketball Hosts Central Arkansas Thursday Night

DENTON — The UNT men's basketball team is back in action Thursday night as they host Central Arkansas at the Super Pit.
The Mean Green (3-2) and Bears (1-3) are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN+.
Thursday will be just the second time the two programs have ever met and the first time since 2013 when North Texas beat UCA 64-55 in Denton.
Thursday is the first of four straight games at the Super Pit for the Mean Green.

UNT enters Thursday having won eight straight home games dating back to last season and 19 of its last 20 home games. The only team to beat UNT at home since the start of last year was UTSA on Feb. 1, 2025. UNT's current eight-game home win streak is its ninth longest home win streak since 1976, 20 is the program record.
Home Sweet Home
At home this season North Texas is shooting 47.6 percent from deep and is averaging 1.2 points per offensive possession, which ranks 44th in the nation. Away from the Super Pit, the Mean Green have shot just 32.1 percent from deep and are only averaging 0.95 points per offensive possession.
Career High In Threes
In UNT's loss last Friday at Saint Mary's (CA), UNT sophomore guard Je'Shawn Stevenson made a single game career high four 3-pointers. Stevenson is averaging 2.2 3FGs per game this season and shooting 35.5% from deep. He averaged 1.09 last year and shot 34.5%.
Leading the League
It's very early but UNT guard David Terrell Jr. leads all American Conference players in total assists with 22.

Following Thursday's home game, the Mean Green will host Eastern Washington at the Super Pit on Tuesday. The game is schedule to tip-off at 7 p.m. CT.
